Unrefined CBD Topicals
Have you tried CBD salves or other topical applications? Topical products are applied to the skin and can include salves, lotions, creams, serums, and other bath and body care products. But you may be wondering if Unrefined CBD is actually effective when applied topically, and if so, how it works.
CBD salves and creams are designed to absorb into your skin. Many report a sensation of relief from pain and inflammation after using CBD salves and topicals, while others use these products purely for the skincare benefits. There are so many reasons to love topical CBD!
CBD Salve / Topical FAQ's
Long answer: Like other CBD products, our dark CBD salve works by acting on the endocannabinoid system. Everyone has an endocannabinoid system whether they use CBD or not, and it's associated with the regulation of pain, immune response, mood, appetite, and other functions within the body. Just a whole bunch of stuff. When you apply our dark salve to your skin, the CBD can bind to endocannabinoid receptors located under the surface. Once the CBD acts upon these receptors, they can get to work by stimulating pain relief or triggering an anti-inflammatory response.
Long answer: Topical CBD products are not associated with any side effects. However, there’s always a possibility that your skin could be sensitive to an ingredient in any body care product.
For example, some people are sensitive to coconut oil or shea butter, which are common natural ingredients that are found in some topical products. These ingredients work for lots and lots of people, but they can cause irritation to some. So if you seem to have any reaction or irritation associated with a cream you are using...stop using it.
Long answer: We have people using it for all kinds of skin and/or soft tissue pain. We’ve even heard customers say they get relief from bone pain with our salves, but again we aren’t physicians. You’ll have to try it for yourself to see how it works with your body - give it a shot basically anywhere there’s inflammation within a few inches of the skin. We don’t think our salve helps with hair loss, but we also haven’t tried. Please submit success stories if you have any.
Long answer: Topical CBD is not an FDA-approved treatment for joint and muscle pain or for any other symptoms. However, many people have reported that it helped reduce their symptoms of pain and inflammation without unwanted side effects. Some even say that the results last for many hours after applying the salve! CBD topicals can provide a very relaxing, pleasant experience. Simply massaging CBD cream or salve onto your aches and pains can feel heavenly! Thanks to its interaction with the endocannabinoid system, the CBD has the potential to boost the soothing effect of a massage. At FTP, we also formulate our CBD topicals with a variety of delicious scents to add an aromatherapy effect. So whether you prefer the bright citrusy aroma of lemongrass, soothing lavender, earthy tea tree, or the icy effect of menthol with a refreshing burst of peppermint, we’ve got you covered at CBD For the People.
Long answer: There's been some unfortunate business going on in the vape industry of late, with people getting sick and even dying from what seems to be adulterated vape products containing various nastiness like vitamin E acetate. For The People is very proud to reiterate that we have never and will never use any weird additives or other shenanigans for the sake of profit. It's...kind of always been our thing. But to the point with our salves, vitamin E is super good for your skin. That's why it's used in so many skincare products! You just don't want to inhale it, so as long as you don't vape our salves (and to be clear DON'T DO THIS) you'll be fine.
Long answer: This shouldn’t happen if stored at normal room temperature, but if left in the sun or a hot vehicle the various oils and waxes in the salve may separate into a grainier texture. This has no impact whatsoever on the effectiveness of the product. We’ve actually had some customers say they prefer it this way (shrug).
